Sinusitis

Sinusitis

The NHS Pharmacy First scheme is here to help you understand and get treatment for sinusitis.

Often referred to as a sinus infection, sinusitis is when the lining of the sinuses becomes inflamed and swollen.

Symptoms of sinusitis usually clear up within a few weeks, but medication can be provided if it’s taking a long time to clear.

Symptoms of sinusitis

There are several common symptoms of sinusitis, including:

  • Having a blocked nose
  • Yellow or green mucus coming from your nose
  • Tenderness around your eyes and cheeks
  • A persistent headache
  • Fever
  • Toothache and pains
  • Loss of smell

Treatments

If our pharmacist confirms you are suffering from sinusitis, they will be able to supply you with treatment during your appointment. You will not need to visit your GP for further diagnosis or a prescription.
